Breeding Basics

The first and most important step to breeding, is picking a well-matched pair. No matter what you're breeding for, be sure to keep these important things in mind.

Every member has 2 free breedings they can do a month. If you'd like to do more breedings in a month, you will need to do an image/lit of the BA[s]. This image/lit must meet a 10FP minimum in order to be valid for the breeding.
BAs MUST be on the site and fully uploaded to be used for a breeding. You can DM the Discord admin account to get a BA uploaded ASAP to put in for breedings.
Both BAs must have their WBC[Wains Breeding Certificate]. You can check this by going to their character inventory.
If a breeding is sent with Beatus that do NOT have their WBC, you will be asked to resend when they do.

Breeding pairs can be one of the following
- Two of your Beatus
- One of your BAs and one of someone else's BA
- Two BAs belonging to another user[s] with permissions on the site

PRIVATE BREEDING RULES

Owner's breeding rules MUST be agreed to before breeding. A lot of members have their own rules about breeding, be sure to read them carefully and thoroughly. The BA group does not oversee breeding rules but will intervene for the following:
- Slot rules are too restrictive.
- Scamming the slot buyers in nature.
- If someone changes the rules after you agree.
- Making you agree to the new rules if you signed the old rules.
- Any slots sold prior to the horse being sold MUST BE KEPT under the buyer's name. The slots are to remain untouched by the new horse's owner.

Inbreeding

Inbreeding is calculated based on sire and dam visible lineage. You can use any inbreeding calculator to find the % needed, but this is the one admins typically use; https://www.nabssar.org/coi_calculator/
Members are asked to calculate inbreeding themselves, but staff will help if you need it~

Inbreeding is classed into 6 levels based on its percentage.

  • 0-7.49% = Level 0
  • 7.5-16.99% = Level 1
  • 17-32.99% = Level 2
  • 33-49.99% = Level 3
  • 50-64.99% = Level 4
  • 65 and up% = Level 5

Level 0 is completely healthy.
Level 1 comes with these possible effects; -2 to all stats, Deaf, Blind, Vitiligo, Chubari Spots, Birdcatcher Spots, Grease Spots, Belton Spots, Brindle, Flop Ears, and Split Tail
Level 2 comes with these possible effects; All previous level effects, -4 to all stats, No Magic, Glitter Birdcatcher Spots, Glitter Grease Spots, Glitter Chubari Spots, Heterochromia: Complete, Heterochromia: Central, Heterochromia: Sectoral, Somatic, Bobtail, Short Ears, Long Tail
Level 3 comes with these possible effects; All previous level effects, -6 to all stats, Infertile, Red Piebald, Fake Piebald, Gigantism, Dwarfism, Extreme Bobtail, Toothless, Overgrown Teeth, Maneless, Curled Ears
Level 4 comes with these possible effects; All previous level effects, -8 to all stats, Stillborn, Hermaphrodite, Double Uterus, Chimera, Vestigial Wings, Stunted Wings, Equine Tail, Long Ears, Missing Back Leg, Missing Front Leg, Missing Ear, Missing Eye, Missing Wing, Extra Eye, Extra Back Leg, Extra Front Leg, Extra Ear
Level 5 comes with these possible effects; All previous level effects, -10 to all stats, Missing Tail, Missing Back Legs, Missing Front Legs, Missing Ears, Eyeless, No Wings, Extra Tail, Extra Back Legs, Extra Front Legs, Extra Ears, Extra Eyes, Extra Wings, Extra Tails, Conjoined

Crosstyping

While not recommended by the admins, crosstyping Beatus can have some interesting results. The reason that it isn't entirely safe to be crosstyping, is due to the fundamental differences in the three types. Each crosstype has its own outcomes and risks.
Below you can find a general list of rolled mutations, along with specific mutations for each Crosstype.

If you want more information on the mutations, refer to our Design Guide.

Crossbreeding with Non-BAs

Within BAs, crossbreeding to other ARPGs is entirely allowed, as long as the other breed/species allows it as well. Crossbreeds can only be properly registered with BAs if they are 50% or more BA, anything below that will not have enough BA blood to be registered.
Crossbreeding will use up your free breedings every month and will require an image if you have no free breedings for the rest of the month.
Crossbreeds with 50% or more BA blood will go through our normal design submission and upload process, and be uploaded to the Lorekeeper as a CB ID. Crossbreeds can still carry titles given to them by parents.
If the other breed doesn't have any genetics, the person rolling the breeding will figure things out and give you the closest result. When submitting a design, we will also consider the other breed and parent influence as well.
